The other articles that caught my eye this week were one in the family section of Saturdays Guardian about giving up work to concentrate on life and another in todays Independent debunking the idea of work-life balance.
Speaking as someone whose mobile phone started ringing at 4:45 this morning I think my life needs to get more balanced!
Just lately my BlackBerry (email/phone-thing) developed a fault which left the display switched on all the time and drained the battery flat in about 3 hours, which meant it was only any use for part of the day if I was out & about. I managed to fix it, but haven't noticed any difference in the volume or importance of my messages before or after - in other words I appear to be in zero demand, except from folk trying to flog me dodgy meds or Nigerian moneylaundering stings. I'm not sure whether to feel marginalised or relieved...
