I want to look inside your head

by deadheaduk @ Saturday, 18. Nov, 2006 - 23:42:18

I went to the hospital on Friday to get the results of my CT scan. They had a map of my head on a computer screen - amazing how all those brains fit inside my head ;)

Anyway the reason I had a scan was due to the headaches that knocked me flat for 3 weeks earlier in the year. I've been getting them for 7 or 8 years, usually once a year and for about two weeks. They are excrutiating and knock me sideways. No one seems to know what is causing them.

Anayway I'm still non the wiser as the scan didn't show anything. It's not my sinuses which is what they've been treating me for the last few years. They've given me a nasal spray and if it doesn't work I have to go back.

What is they say "No news is good news"
Let's hope the headaches don't recur next year.

Jeez, hope you get to the bottom of it, or it just doesn't happen again xxxx

I would be interested to know if it's always at the same time of the year? If so, it could be an allergy to a particular pollen.

Alternatively, do you change your diet around the time you get them? If so it could be a seasonal food or something you only eat on rare occasions.

I'm sure you've looked for anything that might trigger the problem, but it's suprising what can have strange effects on your metabolism. Maybe it's an activity - what do you do only once a year?

There doesn't seem to be anything in common with when I get them. This year it was in April, the two previous years it was January and I know I had them in December once and I also recall having them in summer as I recall sitting on someones decking feeling it coming on.

I've analysed everything around them and there doesn't seem to be any common denominators. I've looked at what I've eaten, drank, computer use etc etc but nothing.

The differing times of the year would rule out airbourne pollution so I just don't know.
